Autodesk releases BIM App to help owners realize operating potential of their buildings.
With the fast and growing adoption of BIM (Building Information Modeling) in the overall construction industry, the professionals have realized the value offered by bim data is continues even after the completion of building projects. Despite being responsible for the majority of a building’s costs over the course of its life, users in the operations and maintenance phase of a building’s life-cycle continue to rely on paper and spreadsheets to store information.
It has been observed that the BIM users in the operations and maintenance phase of a buildings life-cycle still store their information on paper and spread sheets. This data either gets manually entered into the systems or never gets into the system, which further leads to errors.
Today, Autodesk announced its Building Ops app (BIM app), a game-changing “mobile first” solution that helps dramatically improve the handover experience, placing operations data collected during the BIM-based design and construction phases of a project into the hands of the team maintaining the building on day one. Autodesk Building Ops, a web and mobile maintenance and asset management solution, enables general contractors, mechanical and electrical speciality contractors, and building owner/operators, to use BIM 360 Field to put their BIM asset data to use by delivering it to building owners at handover.
